I am not sure I even have "power scripts" which run on lid close. The
problem is that when I try to get on the network after opening lid,
half the time it shows my network without wpa, so I sometimes have to
restart X just to get it to acknowledge there is wpa on the network
again, and even then it still asks for user/pass.
most recently I had to actually specify "other network" and tell it to
use encryption after reopening lid just to get back on.

Do your power scripts remove kernel modules at all?
