How does NetworkManager detect whether a connection is wired vs
wireless? I updated my FC5 system last night, and now NetworkManager
shows my wireless card as wired -- if I click on the NetworkManager
icon, I see my normal wired network connection (disabled) and my
wireless as "Wired Network (Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g
Wireless LAN Controller)".
It connects to my home network, but no longer shows available
wireless networks.. (it did yesterday..) I'm running on a Dell
Inspiron 5150, FC5 (2.6.16-1.2111_FC5 kernel), NetworkManager 0.6.2.
I've looked for docs, but was not able to find anything relevant.
Suggestions welcome. Thanks!
You might have been bitten by an issue wherein network devices can
randomly swap names. Try installing initscripts from updates-testing and
rebooting, and see if that fixes the problem.
