Thanks for your comments :-)

Sorry but I've been offline for a couple of days.  You are correct, the
default behaviour, as with all NM VPN connections, is to add a default
route over the new interface (ie. all traffic goes over the tunnel)

I just noticed that the sensitivity of the routes text box is not correct,
and there should probably be a colon at the end of the check box text.
I must correct that, and perhaps add some text about the default route.

If you are having problems such that the connection appears to have
connected yet it will not send traffic, it is likely that you are suffering
from the MTU issue:  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344967
The attached patch is an effective quick fix, but a better solution for the
NM core is also in prep.
