NetworkManager Applet 0.6.2 Issue

I had posted the following msg on ubuntu forums but I guess this might
be a better place to ask it:

Hello,

I've manually changed my IP address from dynamic to static as I
described here:

I have no problem connecting to internet or other boxes on my LAN but I
am quite annoyed that the network icon on the upper right corner shows a
little red exclamation sign and when hovered it reads "No network
connection".

Any ideas why?
