debian init script

Debian init scrit is not generated during compile time from a .in file so it 
does not have the correct path to daemon. 

And init scripts exits gracefully (with code 0) if the daemon does not exist, 
isn't it more appropriate to print an error message ? What's the point of 
omitting error messages.
