Problem with Access Point

Hi

I have a Surecom wireless router here at home which isn't encrypted.
Nevertheless networkmanager asks for a password.

iwlist ath0 scanning says:
 Cell 02 - Address: 00:03:2F:2B:55:E3
 ESSID:"skynet"
 Mode:Master
 Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
 Quality=38/94  Signal level=-57 dBm  Noise level=-95 dBm
 Encryption key:off
 Bit Rate:1 Mb/s
 ...
 Bit Rate:54 Mb/s
 Extra:bcn_int=100

/var/log/messages says:

I'm starting Networkmanager:

Then nm-applet:

Here the "Enter Networkkey"-dialog appears. I press Cancel and Ctrl+C at
nm-applet.

I would love to use Networkmanager since it's a great idea IMHO
especially for laptops. Any suggestions?

greetings
fabian
