Sorry for the delay. KNetworkManager is ready for the public. I'll try
to get some tar ball online these days.
Regarding the upstream merge: I'd love to see the KDE applet in the NM
tree. However, the merge will require some auto* magic I am not aware
of how to solve. We use a KDE automake & friends setup which would need
to get plugged into the NM source tree. Anyone?

Yepp, having one package is definitely the way to go.
