Cannot return to previous folder with backspace

In pre-3.6 versions of Nautilus/Files I could return to the previous folder with backspace. This seems to have been removed in 3.6+
Was this keyboard shortcut moved or removed? Are there alternatives to restore this function?
OS: Ubuntu 12.10, Gnome 3.6, Nautilus/Files 3.6.2
