Hello,
hope somebody can help... I am trying to remove various menus and menu
items from the Nautilus (3.4.1) menu hierarchy, starting at the main
menu bar. (Also, I am trying to remove most of the context menu items)
I know that this used to be possible, by modifying the various files
located at /usr/share/nautilus/ui/
My default installation of Ubuntu 12.04 doesn't seem to have this
directory, and I can't find any of the various old xml files (e.g.
nautilus-navigation-window-ui.xml). I have tried recreating the original
ui/directory and its contents, but I've had no success with this.
I have downloaded the nautilus source, and can see some suitable-looking
xml files in the source tree, so presumably, I could always customize
nautilus by changing these, and rebuilding? However, what I would really
like to do is to define my customizations, to be applied at *runtime*.
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious?
Thanks,
Gareth
