Hi,
i have been finding myself falling in that trap at least once a week
over the last few months and it is really annoying, costs time and imo
should be changed.
my default "view style" is list view, so i can sort by date or name
quickly, depending on what i need when looking for files. so i have some
file or directory selected in the list (not the first/top one) and i
click the titlebar to eg. switch to name sorting. now i want to go
through the file list maybe up, maybe down using the cursor keys.
down works just fine, the focus jumps from the title bar i clicked back
into the list and when pressing down the second time, i can move the
file selection down using the down cursor key.
up is the problem: the focus jumps from titlebar to "view style"
dropdown menu and the second up keypress switches to icon view.
"wtf, my view changed i just wanted to scroll up!" .. first i thought i
accidentally pushed the wrong key, but this is caused by leaving the
treeview (?) with the file list. as a "plain" user i don't want the
focus to leave the file list when i change sorting... and definitely do
not want to change the view.
imo the up/down key binding should be changed so that pressing up moves
the selection in the file list up... and not the selection of a
different widget in the gui.
br,
Florian
