I also think that querying gstreamer for tags is quite a "heavy"
operation (even it is done asynchronously). But the first time this
must be done, and then results cached into xattrs, like Bastien
suggested!
Everything is getting more difficult than I initially thought
Anyway I think that totem should export an interface to extract tags
(just because totem can use either xine or gstreamer, and it is stupid
to implement an extension for gstreamer and one for xine, totem should
abstract it, if it doesn't do it yet)
