In Ubuntu, they already have an utility that does what you suggest here,
i.e. on double click of a .deb, it pops up a dialog with a description
and a button to install it.
Though, that is completely unrelated to Nautilus, which is just a file
manager and not a package manager, so you may want to forward this
question to one of the Debian mailing lists.
Regards,
Yes, but the problem is I want use it in a similar way in all the Linux/Unix
distributions (i.e. Fedora, Cygwin... and not only Debian). I.e. I tried to
install a package in Cygwin and I have found the same problem.
The Ubuntu solution is the ideal for all the Unices that uses Gnome (so, it
would attract even more people to Gnome). If included, it would give to
Gnome the same advance that Installer gave to Debian.
What is the name of the application in Ubuntu?. I imagine we can port to
Gnome.
Thank you a lot.
Regards
Pedro.
