I use an external USB reader to transfer pix from my digital camera's
CompactFlash card. When I plug it and put the card in, I get TWO icons
and TWO instances of gThumb (which is configed in Preferences/Removable
Drive and Media).
Some linux people have helped me determine that the system actually sees
2 devices, and is responding accordingly.
Here is /proc/bus/usb/devices regarding this device:
< T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
< D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
< P: Vendor=05dc ProdID=0001 Rev= 0.01
< S: Manufacturer=Lexar Media
< S: Product=CF READER ?
< S: SerialNumber=
< C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr=100mA
< I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=usb-storage
< E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
< E: Ad=03(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
The Mfgr. and Product are correct.
At least 1 person believes that it's a udev rules issue, but couldn't
design a solution. Perhaps someone has a solution?
