I don't know of any way to do it.. seems like another case where we've
taken inspiration from a feature from OS X (mounted volumes appearing on
the desktop and in the Computer view, and disappearing again when you
unmount them), but overlooked the parts that make it truly useful :/  

Namely, in OS X, you can create icons that are aliases/links to volumes
while they're mounted, and file those aliases anywhere you like.  After
you've unmounted the volume, double-clicking its alias icon will
authenticate if required and re-mount it, before opening its file
manager window.

Also, the 'connect to server' dialog in OS X lists both your recent and
favourite connections, so most of the time it's convenient just to use
that rather than creating any aliases at all.  GNOME's Connect to Server
dialog doesn't even remember the last values you entered, which is
pretty frustrating as most of the time I personally just want to connect
to the same server I connected to last time :/

I'd suggest filing an enhancement bug if there isn't one there
already :)
