What does it look like if you have, say, a USB 4in1 card reader plugged
in with no media in any of the slots? This is pretty common in many
desktops nowadays.
I guess we probably shouldn't display an icon on the desktop if we know
there is no media in the drive... and briefly looking through the patch
I can't see how you would know whether a drive supports media checking
because gnome-vfs don't export it (we could though) and you don't query
hal (would be better for gnome-vfs to export it).
