FWIW, I doubt that anyone around here is qualified to make a judgement
on that.  

Also bear in mind that working on any feature with knowldege of patents
in the same field usually puts you in a worse legal position than if you
didn't know about the patent in the first place... when it comes to
software patents, ignorance is usually bliss :) (Provided you have
lawyers who can worry about it for you, anyway...)
