a question about the tree model in the side pane

nautilus 2.4

I want to hide some directories in the tree of the side pane by
another way except NAUTILUS_PREFERENCES_SHOW_HIDDEN_FILES

is the source in component/tree/... ?

I modified some files in that

but it seems not work ...

I only re-compile the component/tree

and run nautilus after remove session of nautilus

need all sources re-compiled ?
