hi there. i'm using the gnome 2 version of nautilus, and i'm really
happy with it. one feature that i think would really improve it's
usability (apart from adding spring-loaded folders ;) would be a
conditional layout. for example, i have my ogg directories in a list
view. currently i have to switch to that view manually, is i haven't
already done so. but i think it would be cool if i could set up a rule
for nautilus to check when i go into a different dir. for example,
if 50% of files in current dir == .ogg, use list view.
or
if current dir contents > 1000 items, use list view, and 50% zoom level.
and a final example...
if 50% of files in current dir == images(.png, jpeg, gif), use gThumb
viewer.
kinda like having filtering in the file-manager.
pre-defined views and layouts could be used as defaults - or the user
could just disable them completely.
thanks for reading, and thanks for hacking on gnome!
