[Nautilus-list] Disabling the 'standard' desktop icons

I've been unsuccessful at finding a way to disable the creation of certain
'normal' desktop items.  Deleting them manually just prompts them to be
automatically recreated at the next nautilus startup.

Want to get rid of the disks (both local and nfs), the home dir icon, etc.

Is there an option I am missing somewhere?
