Multi-user systems make great multi-user systems. They're just not so great

I don't think this has anything to do whether or not your system is a
single-user or multi-user system. You'll have the same problem if you
are browsing a group-wide SMB directory system from Windows 98.
What about disallow the .trash directory on floppys? they don't make
sense, they fill the disk, and I was told that "you can't copy because
the disk is full" when the disk was _apparently_ empty.
just my 2c.
