Hmm. This seems to not be DnD related at all.

The following exposes the same bug:
1) Open two windows in the same dir
2) In one of the windows, go into a subdir whose name contains a space
3) in the location bar, append "file:" before the text and press return.
4) go "up" to go back to the original directory.

Now you got two icons for the directory.

This might be some kind of whitspace escaping problem in the file: URI or
something.
