I have been thinking about the features I'd like to see in nautilus
since my last post and have I realise that they are unlikely to be
added before 2.0 - the more features the more likely there are to be
bugs.
So i've decided to try to do some of the things myself - and GPL them.
Ideally they would be totally sepporate to the nautilus code with shell
scripts used to install them.
For the integration of cd-burning and iso handling - i was thinking of
making a special folder (i already have a 700mb /mnt/precd on my sys)
which would have options to make the contents an iso or to bzip them or
to burn them.
so here is my question: is what is displayed on the sidebar hard-coded
in c or is there anyway to modify it on a folder basis - say with XML?
If not i think ill suggest it. It would make it possible for people to
write plugin-frontends for nautilus.
