ok, changed to autoconf 2.13 and I get this error:
Making ./aclocal.m4 writable ...
Running xml-i18n-toolize... Ignore non-fatal messages.
patching file po/Makefile.in.in
Hunk #1 succeeded at 35 (offset 1 line).
Hunk #2 succeeded at 87 (offset 1 line).
Hunk #3 succeeded at 173 (offset 2 lines).
Running libtoolize...
You should update your `aclocal.m4' by running aclocal.
Running aclocal -I macros ...
Running autoheader...
FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.50 or higher is required for this script
Running automake --gnu ...
Running autoconf ...
FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.50 or higher is required for this script
**Error**: autoconf failed.
does this mean I need an earlier automake (assuming that since you had
yours there...)? I currently have automake 1.4-p4 installed.
I went looking in the gnu automake source directories but could only
find 1.4, 1.4-p1, 1.4-p2, 1.4-p3 etc, no 1.4a. suggestion?
installing automake 1.4 I still get the same error as above...
cheers and thanks,
chris
note: could this be an issue with how debian handles stuff having
autoconf 2.13 and 2.5x installed at the same time somehow? I manage to
get other apps/libs compiled though (eg evolution, gal, gtkhtml, eel,
galeon, mozilla, etc).
