I have been experiencing a lot of crashes on my Ubuntu
Dapper(it happened in breezy and hoary too) system.
Is muine smp safe? I have a lot of problems running it on
my dual athlon mp system, while it runs flawlessly on my
uniprocessor systems. Is there any way that I can figure
out why muine keeps crashing?
It is also running with my home directory and music storage
on nfs shares. Could this be causing the crashes I'm
seeing? Any help with getting a stable muine would be much
appreciated.
Please start Muine from a terminal window and see if it produces any output.
It may well help to identify the problem.
Nope, no output at all. Sometimes I'll notice that the
music stops playing and the counter will have gone past the
end of the song. For instance, it will say 4:55/3:05. When
I try to hit next muine stops responding and will sometimes
start allocating tons of ram (aka several hundred megs on a
system with a gig) till I kill it. Also the UI always
becomes unresponsive and will not redraw in this circumstance.
Other times I'll get the gnome crash dialog about muine
while the music is still playing. Then if I tell it to
restart muine the music stops and a new window of muine starts.
In all cases, there is nothing printed to .xsession-errors
and when I start muine in gnome-terminal, there is nothing
left there after the crash.
Thanks.
