Re: [gnome.org #15884] GNOME Membership Application of Martin Abente Lahaye

Hi,

I vouch for Martin. His contributions have been valuable to GNOME and I
expect there to be more in the future.

Thank you,
Philip C

Dear Cosimo, Philip and Juan,

The GNOME Membership Committee is about to process Martin Abente Lahaye's
application to become a GNOME Foundation Member and therefore need some
feedback about the applicant and their work on GNOME, both past and
present.

Remember that vouching for a contributor means you really think the
applicant
is committed to GNOME and will carry on contributing in the future, and
that
you trust the applicant and their work. If unsure about vouching or not,
please
let us know why you don't feel comfortable enough in advocating this
applicant.

For further details about the applicant, feel free to have a look at the
their application at the following link:

Contributions Summary:
Over the last 10 years I have been contributing to open source
projects that are built on top of the GNOME stack. Some notable
examples are: I maintained the GTK-based apps toolkit and desktop for
the Sugar Learning Platform, used by the One Laptop Per Child project
[1,2,3]. Now at Endless, I have been contributing to a family of
GNOME-stack based libraries and tools for apps creation [4,5].

One example is Emeus, a constraint-based layout manager and container
for GTK which I helped develop and use [6]. Last year, I was lucky
enough to be in my first-ever GUADEC where I presented Emeus and the
way Endless is using it to make better apps [7], receiving a lot of
positive comments from the attendees.

I have also participated in other community activities such as the UX
Hackfest 2017 [8] and I will go to the up-coming Recipes Hackfest 2018
[9]. Plus, I have once been part of the GNOME Advisory Board on behalf
of Sugar Labs [10].
