Re: [gnome.org #9044] GNOME Membership Application of Will Thompson (will AT willthompson.co.uk)

Hello,

He made lots of great patches for Empathy. As maintainer of that module,
I'm really happy with his work. He did also lots of work on the
telepathy framework which is not directly part of GNOME, but is the base
of Empathy. Notably he started telepathy-haze, which is the backend
Empathy uses to provide all pidgin's protocols (using libpurple).
Definitely an essential piece of the GNOME desktop.

So this is a clear +1 from me.

Regards,
Xavier Claessens.

Dear Davyd and Xavier,

The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee needs more information to
process the application of Will Thompson. Since [he/she] has listed
you as the primary contact, the committee would like you to list the
contributions that Will Thompson has made for the GNOME community in
recent times. Your input will be greatly appreciated to help us to make
a fair and informed decision in the granting or denying the applicant as
a foundation member.

At your service,

The GNOME Foundation Membership Committee
