Dear Sankarshan,
A word about Srujanika might help you appreciate our views about
Subhransubetter. We are a volunteer academic group working with science and
education in Orissa. We have always been interested in improving Oriya
language computation facilities and in generating language resources for the
same.
We put these ideas into practice in 2004 when we co-ordinated an Oriya
localisation effort for Linux and Subhransu, then a student at a local
technology institute, was among the first to join us as a core volunteer. He
contributed actively to the development of Gnome Oriya lossary and in
translation of the po files. Unfortunately our work itself could not make
much progress due to a variety of reasons, mainly due to lack of interested
technical manpower, but Subhransu in association with RedHat-India managed
to carry on the work and kept regular contact with the rest of us to
facilitate the work. The Oriya interface in the present Fedora release has
been made possible primarily because of his efforts.
Thus I feel that he can make valuable contributions to the Linux work in
general which would include the Gnome
