Re: TODO list for the elections

I couldn't get one yet. But I sent a request about it. I hope they grant
an account as soon as possible. Btw, seems like Greg has an account
handy already, at last resort he can fix necessities.

Here's another update :-)
I didn't do any of the items, but some of you did.

Hey guys,

As the current howto for the elections is not updated, here's a quick
TODO list for the elections:

 * post a news on gnomedesktop.org asking for questions to ask to the
candidates.

Done.

 * announce list of candidates

Done.

 * process the applications sent before the deadline
   => There's not a lot. Should be easy.

AFAIK, this is not done. This is the most urgent item right now.

There are two applications to process:
  + Gerald Friedland
    see this thread:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/membership-committee/2005-November/msg00027.html
  + Johan Dahlin (renewal)

Also, someone should update Kaushal Kumar's email address:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/membership-committee/2005-November/msg00081.html
(but this requires a sql account)

 * prepare the elections
   => it means adding one row in a sql database. It's not hard, but you
      need the access rights to do it. I can do it if necessary.

I think Baris is asking for a shell account to do this.
Baris, do you have an account?

 * write the instructions for the vote
   => easy.

Not done, but this shouldn't be too long.

 * send instruction mails for the vote
   => same as the previous item.

Not done yet, but this is normal :-)

 * announce preliminary results
   => easy, since you don't have to count the results :-)

 * process challenges
   => easy: usually, there's no challenge

 * announce the official results
   => easy :-)

Can't be done right now :-)
