Meld doesn't use a hash. In shallow comparison mode it doesn't read
file contents at all; in content comparison mode it simply reads and
compares the bytes (or decoded + filtered text, if text filters are
being applied).

Hello M. Kai Willadsen,
I looked in vain in all the documentation of meld for what hash you use for comparing two files: md5,
shaxxx, which checksum? I am very keen to know, it is a precious information (reliability issue), although
I do not doubt for a second for the excellence of your program, I would be overbearing.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards
Phlique
