meld : which hash is using?

I looked in vain in all the documentation of meld for which hash (checksum) you use for comparing two files: md5, shaxxx,, I am very keen to know, it is a precious information (reliability issue), although I do not doubt for a second for the excellence of your program, I would be overbearing.
