Sorry, but I tried a simple hg repo, with a single file, and meld trunk
works. Could you elaborate on your environment, hg version, etc...

Could you make a very small test case like in comment #4 of bug:

The message is a bit misleading because it is displayed even in
cases where the problem is not that you don't have GNU patch.

The meaning is really this "the patch given by the vc plugin cannot
be applied", and this may be for various reasons.

I'va added a TODO entry to change that message to something better.
