Hi Greg, great work! I had a skim through your patch and it looks
like you've made a decent stab at all the major obstacles. I'll follow
up with details in bugzilla.

On a related note, I'll probably make a point release quite soon, before most
of the windows patches go in to give them time to stabilize & be tested.
