MC on OSX shell inheritance

Hello.
I've installed mc via mac ports and observed that mc creates it's on shell which does not inherit my aliases and other settings from .profile. Also when I exit mc my CWD won't change to the one selected in mc. This behaves conversely in linux distros. Why?
