Just read this thread again for a solution that has been referenced more
than once (make Unity to release the binding via the Compiz settings
plug-in). Even more so, mc does provide all remapping facilities that
you seem to not to be aware of.
You're right, actually I had forgotten. Furthermore, one can
do `man mc' and do a search on 'keymap' for details.
