My Zenwalk build of mc 4.6.2-pre1 includes LZMA and DAR support. Files, 
including patches, build script and modified .ext and .ini files can be 
found here:

http://users.zenwalk.org/user-accounts/paul/mc/4.6.2-pre1/

Works well for me, and is now the official Zenwalk build.
