This is very interesting. I would like to be able to do this kind of indentation with .c and .h files in particular, for obvious reasons. However, when I try to follow the advice given below here is what I find in the indicated file, $HOME/.mc/cedit/edit.indent.rc case `echo $1 |sed 's/^.*\.//'` in c|h) # ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/indent/ # Please add options to your ~/.indent.pro, not here. indent "$2" (and the "case" continues to other things...)
The `echo $1 |sed 's/^.*\.//'` is striping the prefix/name from the filename. E.g. echo main.c |sed 's/^.*\.//' will result in c
I cannot find any such file called .indent.pro
Do you have "indent" installed? The file ~/.indent.pro is a part of this program and must be created by hand by reading the manpage to indent.
