I don't think so.  Your contribution will be welcome.

Make sure you are working with mc-4.6.0 or CVS.  Older versions have a lot
of code for GNOME that was later removed.

If you have write access to the GNOME CVS, you can commit the translation
yourself.  I'll update configure.in.
