I gave it second thought, and this should not be done. Not at all.

Distributing software as ELF packages is absolutely evil, because you
have no way how to decide if such installer will not mess your system.

Installers are programs which like to mess systems badly, right?

With installer being shell script, you can look inside what it does.

With package packed as rpm, you can look what it contains.

With installer as elf binary, you have no such chance. All you could
do is take chakravyuha and watch it messing your system.
