multiple codepages support under OpenSUSE

Hello!

I use OpenSUSE:

I re-build mc from source code for multiple codepages support and it have been showed in MCs brief:

Using system-installed S-Lang library with terminfo database

Data types: char 8 int 32 long 32 void * 32 off_t 64 ecs_char 8

But when i press Meta-e (Alt-e) there is happens nothing in panel mode, in editor and in viewer mode. Both in native terminal mode and in X-Term. In ssh session (PuTTY) too.

Also under FreeBSD (on the other box) all works fine.

It seams to be an easy and simple mistake in my configuration but i can't what can be wrong.
