So news.gnome.org: redirect to www.gnome.org/news
but news.gnome.org/announce: show existing content?

Wouldn't that be a bit confusing?

PS: news.gnome.org is nothing more than a subdirectory of
planet.gnome.org; same for most planet sites (though redirects are in
place to ensure google only sees one thing).
