I'd like to address some doubts/issues that appeared in the comments of
the survey:
Maybe we could add an FAQ to the Friends page.
1) Is it possible to donate any value, specially less than $10? How? We
should be more explicit regarding minimum accepted values.
You can donate any amount you want. On the actual donation page, you can enter any number.
$10/month is the minimum for receiving a tshirt after a year because of shipping costs.
2) In the first page, it says you can adopt a hacker with $10 or more.
The next page shows the amount of $25. It would be nice to have the same
amount on both pages.
$10 is the minimum for getting a tshirt and postcard. We wanted to encourage people to give $25 but you can change the amount to anything you want.
3) Most people responded that wouldn't donate monthly, but when they had
some available resources, whenever at the year. Perhaps we should
mention that they can do this.
So monthly is only one option. You can also donate a fixed amount and the gifts for those are on the page as well.
4) People also say they prefer to donate to some cause, to a specific
campaign, like that sysadmin thing. This increases the sense of
collaboration. They feel they help more.
Yes, I think we definitely saw that. One that has been requested a lot is hackfests. Were there others that came up?
5) Where is the list of people who donated? People want to see their
names as collaborators.
Thanks for getting the feedback!
