Press release for 2.20?

At the moment, I don't think anyone has planned to do a press release
for GNOME 2.20. Here are some hints in case anyone wants to do that.

Here is the last press release that was made for a press release:
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.14/press_release/C/
That differed slightly from the format we've used before. I don't have
much opinion about which is best, but the old style seems to conform
more to standard press release style:
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.12/press_release/C/

Although there are lots of changes this time, like every time, I don't
see any particular theme. We'd have to just list the more significant
changes. You can see some here in the draft release notes:
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/notes/en/
(Don't link to that, please. It's unfinished.)

Again, I don't plan to do the press release myself. I've pushed hard to
get these done before, but I'm no longer convinced that it has much
effect. The only news sites that use it don't seem very worthwhile to
us, and they just reprint it verbatim. The enthusiast/news web sites
look at our release notes instead. Press releases are probably more
useful for events that don't happen so regularly or which are a
surprise.

Also, I have decided to remove the overall start page that we've had
before, such as
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.14/
Now, the release notes themselves will be the first starting point, with
everything on one page, as you can see here:
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/

If anyone wants to do a press release, I can help you with the docbook
system so that it is translated into several languages along with the
release notes.
