reasoning isn't allways clear-cut. I reiterate, my primary reason
was to reflect the libxml2 design. And of course, whenever I have to
make a design decision, I do that according to future work I anticipate.
That has nothing to do with lumping together unrelated changes, it's
just a matter of good development praxis.
