#3 is funny! I wasn't even aware of that.
I've been thinking about this bug. I know I reported it mostly in jest
originally, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that the
best solution is actually to implement east/west wraparound, then the
only snapping to even exist will be north/south and this bug will be
obsoleted.
Just think, the people of Fiji will thank you! ;-)
