I think if you need cursor functionality you may be able to have it added to clutter-gtk. I'm not sure if there are ABI or API issues with that but it seems like a useful thing to abstract so it works in any toolkit.  As for gobject introspection I noticed that compiling from git gives me a gir file so this is upstream already.  Fedora isn't in the habit of diverging too much from upstream.  If anything we usually only patch in backports.

thanks for the advice. I have to look at clutter-gtk to see what it
offers to decide if we really need champlain-gtk. I also don't expect
any major problems with Gtk3 - it's just a matter of installing it and
testing libchamplain with it which I thought would be better after the
API freeze. But you're probably right I'd better do it earlier.
