The colors of a symbolic icon are adjusted with the theme. I think it's the easiest solution, but the .png files must maybe be adapted. There is a script to generate the .png in data/images/generate-symbols/ (but it involves some work to be able to generate _all_ the symbols with this script. It was used only for a few symbols).
