Wow, I love it, it looks great ! You can easily make a small logo for gnome2 by removing the text, and a big one for gnome3. It looks nice, it's simple and beautiful ! Could you please share the svg so I can test it on my PC?

I saw what was said about improving the logo on the website and I put
this together. If you are interested I can post the svg source, and
create some variations for different uses.
