Name: Matt Dalio
Organization: Endless
Matt is the Founder of Endless, a company whose mission is to make computing universally accessible by solving the barriers of cost and connectivity to create a thriving ecosystem where everyone can participate. Most of Endless' users live in places where access to information is restricted, and computers are prohibitively expensive, so Endless has created its own hardware products to prompt the global hardware industry to drive down costs, and its own operating system, Endless OS, to solve the issue of connectivity. Endless OS is built on top of GNOME and other Open Source technologies to achieve its goal of being especially user-friendly and adaptable to international markets. As CEO and Chief of Product at Endless, Matt is defining the future of Endless OS and how it will continue to evolve alongside GNOME and the Free and Open Source technologies to which it contributes and leverages.
In a past life, Matt also founded the China Care Foundation at the age of 16 to offer orphaned children a brighter future, was honored as one of Oprah Winfrey’s “People Changing the Lives of Children Around the World”, was one of Teen People’s “20 Teens Who Will Change the World”, and is the youngest recipient of the Fulbright Award for furthering peace and international understanding. He is passionate about creating social impact and believes that GNU/Linux will play a critical role in the empowerment of the next billion computer users.
