Pidgin Plugin Rebased

Hi,

I have rebased the Pidgin plugin series. Please see:

When working with WIP branches like this, we must include changes by
rebasing instead of merging. The new series gives a fresh start for
further development. The series is now more clean (log messages,
whitespace, changesets are merged together to hide changes that were
later reverted).
