I'm not a big fan of external repositories. If somebody wants to step up
and maintain packages outside of Edgy, that's fine. I personally would
rather like to see problems addressed in Edgy and I hope that we have
the gstreamer goodness in soon-ish.

I agree. RPM repos are a ball-ache to maintain and the number of people adding yet another repo will be miniscule I imagine. I will continue to pester the Extras project in Fedora to get that progressed through - I am confident we should see in there for FC6 or Jokosher 0.2, whichever comes first.
